What a month!!!

This has been one of the craziest months I have ever had. First we had a huge Christmas Production at church (The Living Christmas Tree). It is an annual event that we begin preparing for in June. Well the performance dates were the 5-7 not including the 2 rehearsals that week as well! Of course FOOD was involved!

On top of that my brother’s wedding took place on the 6th. LOTS of food was involved in that! And you know I didn’t cheat one bit…I promise! Now I have to go to church to repent for that lie! I ate at every event, but not as much as I normally would have! And I also excercised to assist. YAY! Still lost weight!!!

On top of that I had another wedding and several other days that required a little cheating, but I stayed on top of it! That is what I am definitely learning. If I am going to cheat…CHEAT RESPONSIBLY!

So far this month I have lost 8 pounds. If I keep it up I will hopefully be ok during the holidays! I am finally below the 300 mark for the first time in a LONG time and met my mini goal of 40 pounds. I am really excited about the transormation!

S00000…I cheated, and I admit it!

Well, I had all good intentions yesterday! HOWEVER, my intentions were not well received by my stomach when I reached the room that housed our enormous supply of really delicious foods! LOL! I did well…at first. I put six little meat balls, a spoonfull of collard greens, and 2 little pigs in a blanket. Then I reached the desert tables (yes that is plural) and I got a little piece of a delicious caramel pie, jewish apple cake, a pecan prailene, and a 7 layer chocolate cake.

Now the good news is I only ate a couple of bites of each! But I ate more than I should have. So when I got home last night, I put on a workout video (3 mile high intensity walk) and did the entire program using (2) five pound weights. It wore me out, but it worked!!! I didn’t gain anything! LOL!

I have to say, I got that out of my system! I am going to be cooking a special coconut cake with coconut buttercream icing for tomorrow. I am not going to even try to convince myself that I will not have a piece of it! LOL! I will!!! But it will be a smaller slice, and I will work out again to make up for it. And then I will make sure it goes home with someone else!!! That will be the key!

I want to wish everyone a wonderfull holiday and hope you remember all the things you have to be thankfull for!

The calm before the storm!

Here it goes…the food has begun to arrive! LOL! We are having our office thanksgiving dinner today…there has been some really awsome desserts passing right by me!!! Lord help me! I don’t have the strength! LOL! I can taste those cakes and cookies now! But I am going to have 2 little things and be done with it; not like the past where I consumed one of EVERYTHING!

I start my excercise program next week. It is the P90x program that is all over televsion. It is really extreme, but I am going to start off at a slower pace so I don’t end up crippled or in the hospital from pain! It will be interesting to see this fat boy trying to do a chin-up! LOL! I can see it in my head…talk about bringing down the house!!! We’ll see! But in all seriousness…It looks like just the thing I need. It tells me what to do everyday. It’s really like having a personal trainer.

I have done well in the last few weeks bringing my total weight loss since November 3rd to 17 pounds. I am never hungry, in fact usually I don’t even want to eat supper at night! LOL! I usually go home and have to force myself to grill some turkey and steam some green beans! But obviously it is working great and I am NOT going to quit this time! I have been there too many times in the past!

Back on Track!

It has been quite a while since my last post. I had to take a long break with my Mother’s health deteriorating drastically. We lost her to her battle with cancer on July 25th. She is in a much better place now and although we were devastated, we are greatful we had such a great year with her!

I am now more motivated than ever and have a great local support group. I have changed the diet program that I was on. I will now be doing a specialized diet that is being promoted by a local physician. I have a shake for breakfast, a really good protein bar for snack, then another shake for lunch, another protein bar for a mid afternoon snack and finally 4-5oz of meat and a cup of vegetables for supper. I have lost 10lbs this last week. I have lots of energy and I am rarely if ever hungry.

My goal has been modified to loose 100lbs by next july, and feel like I will be able, or close by that point. Along with my eating changes, I will be working out on the treadmill and the crossbow platinum (like the bowflex, only better).

And The Journey Begins…!

For those of you who don’t yet know me…My name is Cicero. I am working as a Support Analyst with ACS Technoligies in Florence, SC. We make Software for churches.

I have a lot going on in my life right now that I am fearful will cause me issues in loosing the weight. I am the primary caregiver for my Mother who is loosing a battle with Lung Cancer. I am closer to my mother than anyone else on this Earth and struggle with being positive everyday!

My entire life I have been overweight…But I am at my all time highest today! Looking at that scale and seeing those 3 digits staring at me, just amazes me. How could I have possibly let myself get to this point!

A few months ago I was in Cusco, Peru doing some missions work. I began to see my weight affect me in ways that I have never imagined. I was there with several college aged guys an gals and really struggled to keep up! We did a lot of very strenuous activites from tearing apart 100 year old rock walls, moving 20′ wide bales of hay, climbing Machu Picchu (the ancient Incan civilization), and walking to the area villages!

I was exhausted constantly, but there was NO way I would ever let them know! LOL! So when I got back home, I promised myself I was going to really work to change my life so I could finally “live” my life and not let my weight be a hindrance!

I am going to be on the “6 week body makeover” that you see on TV all the time. I have done a lot of research on it and I have found some really great success stories on it. I should receive it in the mail  soon, but until then, I am going to just do my best in watching what I eat and excersize.

I have decided to make my first goal 40lbs. I know that a mini goal is supposed to me smaller numbers, but I just don’t feel like I am successful until I hit that 300lb mark!

So here
